Understanding Dashboard Widgets

Updated 1 month ago

Dashboard widgets help you visualise and track engagement data. Each dashboard comes with default widgets, but you can customise them to show exactly what you want to measure.

How Widget Data Works

Widget data is determined by two main factors:

  • Your reporting context (Main dashboard or Project dashboard)

  • Your selected date filter

The only exception is the 'Currently logged-in users' widget, which shows real-time user numbers regardless of date filter.

Understanding “Unique“ Metrics

When you see “unique“ in a metric (like unique visitors or participants), it's counting one visit per IP address. Important note: Since multiple people can share an IP address (like in a household or workplace), several individuals using the same network will count as one unique visitor.

Available Widget Types

1. User Tracking Widgets

User Count & User List

Track users based on verification status, activity, or registration with these metrics:

MetricDetail
VerifiedTotal number of verified users
Last ActiveUsers showing activity within your specified timeframe
RegistrationsNumber of new user registrations

Configuration Options:

  • Roles: Filter by specific user roles (Administrator, Project Manager, etc.)

  • Exclude Roles: Remove specific roles from the count

  • Suffix: Add context text after the number (e.g., “Users“)

2. Time Series Widgets

Time series widgets help you visualise trends over time. Here's an example:
